Luhansk Region
Yesterday, the village of Makiivka of the Svatove district came under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled Russian attacks in the districts of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, and Bilohorivka. Russian occupiers stormed the positions of Luhansk region defenders five times, inflicting 21 artillery and mortar strikes.
Donetsk Region
In the evening, a missile attack was launched on Kurakhove, high-rise buildings and private houses were damaged, one person was injured. During the day and at night, active fighting took place near Vuhledar and Pavlivka. At night, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka were shelled. Kharkiv Region
Late yesterday evening, the enemy struck Kharkiv with three missiles, previously the S-300 air defense system. An industrial facility was damaged in the Industrial district. No casualties or significant damage. During the past day, the occupiers shelled the cities of Kupiansk and Vovchansk and other settlements of the Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts, which are located near the contact line and the border with the Russian Federation.
A residential building was damaged in Vovchansk, an infrastructure object (boiler plant) and an educational institution (Shevchenkivskyi Lyceum) were damaged in Shevchankive village of Kupiansk district. According to the Regional Emergency Medical Center, a 48-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were hospitalized with injuries in Kupyansk. Yesterday in Derhachy, an unknown explosive device blew up and a 45-year-old man was hospitalized with injuries. In addition, in the village A 54-year-old man was wounded by an explosive device in Volokhov, Chuhuiv district.
Zaporizhzhia Region
Over the past day, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of the settlements of Hulyaipole, Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Chervone, Novodanlivka, Yurkivka, Kirpotyne, Stepnohirsk, Olhivske, Temyrivka, Shevchenko, Malynivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Dorozhnyanka. 19 reports were received about the destruction of houses (apartments) of citizens and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by Russian military personnel. Detailed information on the consequences is being clarified.
Dnipropetrovsk Region
The Russians shelled the Nikopol district all night. Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities were hit with «Hrad» and heavy artillery. Previously, people were not injured. A power line was damaged in Marhanets. 45 thousand families in Marhanets and villages and towns of the Marhanets community are without water. Energy workers are already repairing the line to start the pumping station. As a result of the enemy attack, buildings and several cars were damaged. The police and the State Emergency Service are still examining the area and finding out the details and consequences of the shelling.
Sumy Region
Over the past day, the Russians fired 264 mines, rockets and projectiles along the border of the Sumy region. The enemy targeted Shalyhyne, Znob-Novhorod, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Yunakiv, Krasnopillia communities. It passed without casualties. There is damage and destruction.

During the winter break caused by weather conditions, Russia can terrorize Ukrainians with missile attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Winter will lead to a slowdown in military offensives in Ukraine on both sides, but analysts predict the continuation of missile terror by the Russian military, The New York Times reports.
«The winter break can last up to six months. In late November, rain and soft ground would slow the movement of both armies. When the temperature drops and the ground freezes, it will be easier for tanks and trucks to move. But the possibility of heavy snowfall and even colder weather can make it difficult for the ill-equipped Russian army to launch any new offensive,» the newspaper writes.
At the same time, analysts predict that the winter break may increase the threat of attacks on the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities by the Russian army.
«Russia is likely to intensify its attacks on infrastructure in order to terrorize Ukrainians,» the publication suggests.
During the upcoming «winter break,» the two sides will also retrain troops and «prepare for a new offensive in February.»
According to analysts, Ukraine may activate a secret campaign to «show that it can strike back even on the territory of Russia.»
Representatives of the Biden administration say that the winter slowdown should be used to resume the supply of defensive and offensive weapons to Ukraine.
