London supports the idea of an international tribunal over dictator Putin – British Foreign Secretary

London supports the idea of an international criminal tribunal against Russian dictatorial President Vladimir Putin.

It is noted that the tribunal aims to try the Kremlin leader and other Russian leaders for the war they started on February 24, 2022 in Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom Liz Trass, writes The Guardian.

According to her, Britain seeks to find the most effective way to prosecute those who have committed «horrific war crimes, including rape, sexual violence, indiscriminate attacks on civilians.»

«We are well aware that Putin and all those behind the horrific war crimes committed in Ukraine must be brought to justice, and we are working very closely with the International Criminal Court,» she said.

Tass says Britain has sent support to Ukraine to help gather evidence. These include witness testimony and video evidence.

«If the tribunal helps to do this, the United Kingdom is definitely considering supporting it,» said the British Foreign Secretary.
