In Estonia, a woman who sent 40 euros to the Russian army was convicted

In Estonia, the Tallinn court convicted a woman who transferred 40 euros to support the Russian army and its invasion of Ukraine.

Postimees writes about it.

Convicted Olga Fedorova sent money to Russian Vladimir Shilov, who transported drones for the Russian army. In July, he was convicted for this by an Estonian court.

«For our boys,» Fedorova wrote in the explanation of the bank payment, which was made at the end of May.

A Russian woman living in Cyprus and her lawyer struck a deal with prosecutors that required Fedorova to be sentenced to five months in prison.

The sentence will not be carried out unless she commits an intentional crime during the probation period of one year and eight months, and Fedorova must also pay a fine of 981 euros.

During the announcement of the decision, the judge stated that there is still relatively little legal practice on this issue, but the agreed punishment is legal and correct, taking into account the guilt.

Supporting an act of aggression by a foreign state is punishable in Estonia by imprisonment for up to 5 years. Support for aggression is also the acquisition and financing of the supply of equipment, including, for example, drones, for the conduct of combat operations by various units of the Russian army.
