The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the plan to create public Wi-Fi hotspots which will provide a stable connection even during power outages. To organize such points, the authorities are considering the use of Tesla Powerwall and Starlink devices. The official stated this in an interview with Forbes.
According to Fedorov, to arrange the hotspots, they will use part of the 1,570 terminals that Ukraine will receive from Poland.
«I don’t know how many such access points there will be. Now, we are making several test hotspots, we will look at their work and scale it up,» – the minister notes.
The launch of the public spots is planned for the next month. This week, a test hotspot check will take place in the internal format, which will then be followed by scaling.
We will remind you that Svyatoslav Pavlyuk, the executive director of the «Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine» association, suggested the ways for settlements in Ukraine to prepare for winter, assessed the enemy’s ability to affect the gas transportation system, and told how to modernize heating infrastructure in the long term.
