Lviv designers from the «m81studio» created an NFT-image of the detained pro-Russian People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, who is also a ‘kum’ to Vladimir Putin (the Russian president is a godfather to his daughter). The artists wrote about it on their Instagram.
«We could not resist and decided to make NFT with the main meme of today. Medvedchuk has been put up for auction in the Warhol style,» – the statement reads.
The created NFT-image repeats the photo of the detained Medvedchuk in handcuffs, which gave rise to hundreds of memes. The designers add «let Putin’s kum be not only in the safe hands of the SBU but also in the future owner of this work.»
You can buy NFT images on the OpenSea platform until April 27. Starting price is 0.1 ETH (just over $300). The designers promise to donate the proceeds from the auction to volunteers for the needs of Ukraine.
«We are selling Kremlin agent Medvedchuk for the needs of Ukraine. He was neither a faithful lawyer of Stus (Ukrainian poet, literary critic, journalist, and active participant in the Ukrainian dissident movement), nor a faithful Ukrainian. We are used to the fact that Medvedchuk is corrupt, but finally, he is being sold so that he benefits Ukraine and not for his own enrichment,» – the designers wrote in a description of the NFT image on the OpenSea platform.
It will be recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a multi-level special operation to detain a People’s Deputy from the banned pro-Russian political party «Opposition Platform for Life» and Putin’s kum Viktor Medvedchuk. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi offered to exchange him for Ukrainians who were taken prisoner by the Russians.
In addition, on April 13, the United Kingdom added another 206 Russian individuals and legal entities to the sanctions list, including sanctions against Putin’s ‘kum’ Viktor Medvedchuk, who was detained the day before.
