Russia might prepare a trap like the one it fell in itself in Chechnya, - Petro Chernyk about Russia's withdrawal from Kherson

Military expert Petro Chernyk explains that the actions of the Ukrainian Army near Kherson are the strategy of exhausting the enemy. He is sure that there will be a battle, but everything will go according to Ukraine's scenario.

As the deep Crimean-Tatar wisdom says, "don't rely on water, don't trust Russians." German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck said something similar, claiming that the Russians cannot be trusted because they do not believe themselves. Another exellent eastern military wisdom says: "war is a way of deception."

There is a partial withdrawal of Russian troops. The Russians are well aware that they will lose the right bank of the Kherson region, so they are trying to drag Ukrainian troops into the city for bloody battles. Let me remind you that the side that storms the city bears very heavy losses.

They themselves were in this trap in 1995, when storming Grozny [a city in the North Caucasus, the capital of Chechnya]. The Chechens pretended to have removed the roadblocks and left the city. After that, the huge four shock columns of the Russians went to the center and captured Dzhokhar Dudayev's palace. And then, the Chechens in small groups "crushed" them all to zero. The Russians lost almost 2,000 killed, 5,000 wounded, and more than 200 pieces of equipment.

The Russians have a strategic defeat, so they need to inflict at least some damage on us. They want to lure us into this trap so that we go there, and then kill and destroy as many of our personnel and equipment as possible. I think this will not happen.

We understand that our strategy for Kherson is the strategy of exhausting the enemy. Fire control is on our side, we break all Russian logistical chains, so sooner or later, we will exhaust them. The enemy will come out from there either completely, or we will destroy him, or we will take him prisoner.

The most important thing for all of us, and especially for media communities, is not to raise the level of public expectations. That is, not to say that tomorrow we will liberate Kherson. There will be a fight, but what kind? I am sure that everything will be according to our scenario.
