Our Legendary Battalion «Azov» Recognized as the Most Capable Combat Unit in the World
Jane’s Defense Weekly, one of the world’s top-ranked military publications, said the Azov Ukrainian Battalion, based in Mariupol, the last point on the Sea of Azov coastline not occupied by Russia, was recognized by world military experts and analysts as the world’s most capable elite private combat unit.
The level of combat capability demonstrated by the Azov Battalion, as even the Russians note, is somewhere beyond reality. Representatives of the so-called L / DРR Special Forces [the Russian-backed forces the past eight years in occupied Donbas] said that the Azov fights resemble aliens from other planets or World War I warriors in their gas masks.
Despite the inhumane conditions and the numerical superiority of the enemy, the regiment together with the Armed Forces has been defending Mariupol during more than a month of Russian siege, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers in equipment and manpower.
A soldier from the Russian 8th Guards General Army, stationed near Mariupol, told a Russian opposition newspaper about the status of Russian forces surrounding Mariupol:
«There were 60 [Russian] tanks in Mariupol; there are 6 left. Of course, there are more crews, but the 102nd Regiment [of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division] was completely destroyed in an ambush. The commander told them ‘reconnaissance by battle, reconnaissance by battle’ everyone knew and just threw in the meat.»
IMPORTANT: Fighting in Mariupol is growing fierce, the occupiers are preparing to storm Azovstal metal factory where the Azov battalion is based.
Kyiv region
On the morning of 16 April, Russian invaders shelled Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, killing one person and hospitalizing several people.
Donetsk region
In the evening, shelling in the Pokrovskyi district (the villages of Zaporizhzhia and Sribne, a fire in residential buildings, damaged kindergartens). At night and in the morning – shelling in the area of Novoselivka-3 Ocheretyn community.

Mykolayiv region
During the last days the Russian troops struck blows from multiple rocket launchers on civilian objects of Mykolayiv city, which is adjacent to territory currently occupied by Russia. According to preliminary data, 5 people died and 15 were injured. This morning in Mykolayiv an infrastructure object was hit.
Poltava region
In the village near Poltava, Russian troops fired a missile and damaged the economic infrastructure, killing one person and injuring another.

Kirovohrad region
The district center of the Kirovohrad region, Alexandria, came under rocket fire on Friday night. According to the mayor, the occupiers struck at 22:26 on the infrastructure of the airfield.
Sumy region
The Russian occupiers destroyed the town of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. Almost all high-rise buildings there are not suitable for living.
Luhansk region
In the Luhansk region, a man was killed and three women were injured in enemy shelling at night. In addition, gas pipelines in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk were cut off.
Severodonetsk is almost 70% destroyed.
The Russian military fired on an oil plant in Lysychansk, Luhansk region, as a result of which a fire broke out on 5,000 square meters.
Kherson region
Explosions and shelling in this coastal region occupied by Russia. There is currently no information on the destruction and casualties. In many settlements of the humanitarian crisis, looting of Russians proceeds.

Kharkiv region
Last night, rescuers of the Kharkiv garrison of the State Emergency Service made 37 operative trips, 34 of which were to eliminate fires, in particular, 27 fires caused by shelling.
The intensity of shelling in some areas of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second biggest city before the war and just 20 miles from the Russian border, has increased over the past 24 hours. More than 50 people were injured and 9 civilians were killed in the city yesterday. The occupiers fired on Derhachi, Balaklia, and Zolochiv in the region. The casualties – 3 people; 2 – died. Battles are being fought in the Izyum direction.
Lviv region
In the morning of 16 April, Su-35 planes of the Russian occupiers fired missiles at the Lviv region. Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Command «Zahid» of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed four cruise missiles. Fighters of the occupiers took off from Baranovichi airfield in Belarus.
