The best Ukrainian establishments of 2021 were announced at the ceremony of awarding the National Restaurant Award «Salt«, which took place 28 November.
Among the 17 nominations are the best restaurants, cafes and coffee houses of the year. A total of 146 institutions were named as finalists.
Two Lviv establishments were nominated for «The opening of the year» nomination: MAD Bars House and Yoki.
The Bachevski Restaurant was chosen as The best restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine. The list also includes six Kyiv establishments, one from Odessa and Bukovel («Mushroom House»).

In the nomination «The best restaurant with a wine list» Lviv restaurant Vinoteca Praha was included, though it didn’t get the championship.
Lviv’s Sino Experimental cocktail bar was included in the list of the Best Bar. Earlier this year, the global spirits firm Diageo named Sino’s co-founder Andrii Osypchuk as one of the world’s ten best bartenders in its annual World Class competition.
«The Best Beer Restaurant» list includes such Lviv establishments as Pravda Beer Theater and Kumpel na Mytniy.
Craft & Kumpel, located on the Market Square, and Choven («Boat») belong to the Best Beer Bar.
Lviv SHOco was recognized as the best confectioner.
Kult Khliba («The Cult of Bread») and Zhyvyi Khlib («The Living Bread») from Lviv were nominated for the Best Cafe-Bakery.
The nomination «The best city cafe from Lviv» included «Para Janov and port wine« and 1708 Pizza di Napoli.
And the Best Coffee House – Svit Kavy («Coffee World»), located on the Market Square. (This coffeehouse is in a storied building: A Rynok Square house where a king fell in love. The history).
Panorama Edem Resort (Strilky, Lviv Region) was chosen as The best restaurant at the hotel. The list of the best also includes: Mon Chef (Astoria Hotel), Cannon (Citadel Inn Hotel) and Leo Restaurant (Leopolis Hotel).
Terrace by the Lake (Edem Resort, Lviv region) was named The best country restaurant.

The National Restaurant Award Сіль («SaltЄ / silʹ) is the main annual event for professionals in the restaurant industry and guests of institutions that actively monitor the development of the restaurant business in Ukraine.
The award was founded in 2013 by Andriy Skipian, head of «Hoteliero» company.
Today, the award gathers more than 2,000 nominees a year. Restaurants, bars and establishments of other formats claim the title of the best in one of 18 nominations. The list of nominations is reviewed annually, in accordance with the state of the industry and the experience of the team in previous years.
The mission of the award has remained unchanged over the years – the development of the restaurant industry of Ukraine, the association of the best and the formation of quality benchmarks that can be compared. The jury members of the National Restaurant Award «Salt» include leading experts in the restaurant industry of Ukraine: representatives of the winning restaurants of previous years, restaurateurs, chefs, sommeliers, chefs, bartenders and opinion leaders.
