Most likely, we shouldn’t expect large-scale migration from the East to the West of Ukraine in the winter period. This was reported by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, in our «Topic of the Week» program.

«Most likely, there won’t be mass migration. Exactly half a year has passed since the start of the full-scale offensive and evacuation, which was mostly undertaken individually. More than 300,000 people left the region. Under our control, with the help of the police, volunteers, and the military, 50,000 people were evacuated. And chiefly, they have already found a roof over their heads or a place where they live,» – he says.

The problem, according to him, is only that those displaced people from the Luhansk region, who settled on the premises of educational institutions, are forced to look for new housing. It’s because, from September 1, some educational institutions will open face-to-face training. Therefore, Serhii Haidai continues, options are currently being sought in various regions to have a kind of housing fund for people who will soon be asked to vacate their previous places of residence.

Those willing to submit proposals for the accommodation of displaced persons can use the «Prykhystok« government program, or contact the humanitarian headquarters of the Luhansk region. In particular, in Lviv, it is located on the street Rudnenska, 10.

Let us remind you that the Cabinet of Ministers predicts a new wave of internal displacement from the East to the West of Ukraine. It will begin on the eve of the heating season. Options for additional settlement of internally displaced persons are currently being worked out in Lviv. As previously reported by the city’s Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning, Liubomyr Zubach, there are a large number of options for housing internally displaced persons. For example, next to the temporary housing for pregnant resettled women in the Hlynyanskyi Tract district, there are old unfinished buildings of the municipal enterprises «Lvivvodokanal» and «Rembud».
