The United States is ready to consider the possibility of supplying Ukraine with medium-range weapons that can strike at airfields in Russia. This was stated by Deputy Secretary of Defense of the United States Kathleen Hicks, «Voice of America» writes.
«Yes, we will continue to look at the type of capabilities that the Ukrainians are asking for in terms of how to give them more range and distance,» – Hicks said.
However, she warned against trying to run ahead and did not provide details on the type of weapons.
«Until these packages are announced, I would not like to run ahead of our presidential decisions. However, we are promoting these packages very quickly. And I think you’ll see more in the coming days,» – she added.

Asked whether her remarks meant that the United States was ready to consider supplying more long-range weapons to Ukraine than those already transferred, the Deputy Defense Minister said «yes».
In addition, Hicks confirmed that the American side will continue to provide intelligence and supply ammunition to Ukraine.
It should be added that according to The Washington Post, the Biden administration is ready to dramatically expand the range of weapons it supplies to Ukraine, and the Pentagon wants to hand over an army Humvee SUV and a number of other complex equipment. According to the publication, the new $ 750 million package of military aid to Kyiv previously included Mi-17 helicopters, howitzers, coastal defense drones and protective suits to protect personnel in the event of a chemical, biological or nuclear attack. It is unclear whether all this will remain in the final aid package.
