In February this year, border guards from the Odesa region will go to the Lviv region for joint training with NATO servicemen according to Alliance standards. This was reported in the State Border Guard Service.
The Main Conference on Training Planning of Units within the Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine (JMTG-U) ended at the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security in the Lviv region. More than 30 representatives of the State Border Guard Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the United States joined the conference. The military discussed a two-month training of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Rapid Reaction Border Command and the Armed Forces Brigade, which will begin in the first decade of February and last until early April.

This year, the fighters will be trained by Ukrainian instructors with the help of observers-trainers from the NATO armed forces. The training will be carried out using a simulation system of combat simulations such as JCATS. The Ukrainian military will train according to NATO standards in order to gain a better level of cooperation between the components of Ukraine’s security sector and interoperability with the military units of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Training of Ukrainian border guards within the Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine was launched in 2020. During this time, the border commandant’s offices of the Izmail, Sumy, Kharkiv and Lviv border detachments have learned to act and interact according to NATO standards. These units also participated in international Sea-Breeze, Rapid Trident and other activities aimed at increasing combat readiness and improving interoperability with other components of the security sector of Ukraine and NATO countries.
