Serhii Volynskyi, the commander of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy, asks to apply the «extraction» procedure to the defenders of Mariupol, following the example of the operation in Dunkirk in 1940. The military announced this in his video message, which he posted on Facebook.
The man noted that more than 600 wounded were among the defenders of Mariupol as of now, and civilians also needed help.
«For 62 days, we have been fighting in the total encirclement, now we are territorially at the Azovstal plant. There are more than 600 injured boys of varying severity in our group who need help. There are no conditions, no drugs, no staff who could help them. There are also wounded civilians. We have hundreds of residents, dozens of children, retirees and people with disabilities. The situation is difficult, there are problems with water,» – the video said.
Volynskyi noted that he appealed to world leaders and diplomats to hear the defenders of Mariupol and apply the «extraction» procedure on the example of Operation Dynamo (Dunkirk Operation, Dunkirk Evacuation) during World War II. For example, in 1940, British and French troops were surrounded by German troops and blocked near the city of Dunkirk. Troops gathered on the coast were in danger of disaster, but Hitler ordered the offensive to stop and «not to approach Dunkirk closer than 10 km.» More than 300,000 French and British soldiers were evacuated during the rescue operation.
«Today, my main message is to save the «Mariupol» garrison. Apply the «extraction» procedure to us, because now is not 1940, now 2022. People here will just die. The wounded will die, and the living will die in battle, civilians die here with us in bunkers, private houses and high-rises, where they are simply shot,» – Volynskyi added.
At the same time, in the destroyed city, the Russian propagandists are preparing a large-scale political provocation in an attempt to attract some Western journalists. To this end, for loyal representatives of foreign media, the Russian Ministry of Defense is planning a so-called «press tour» on April 28, Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
It is noted that the arrival of «journalists» on the territory of Ukraine is organized through the Russian city of Rostov. The program of the event includes «alternative facts» about the defence of Mariupol. Trained «witnesses» will say that Ukrainian defenders allegedly bombed the city and killed locals. To confirm this version, trained provocateurs will be presented as «eyewitnesses» who will tell about the mythical «mass killings of civilians by the Ukrainian military.»
«This action is an organic continuation of Russia’s policy of creating fakes that should justify Putin’s punishers and shift the blame for their crimes on Ukrainians. The former «business cards of Yarosh» and the «crucified boys» are turning into «self-destructive» Bucha and Mariupol,» – the Defence Intelligence writes.
