14 February, testing of the personalized opening and closing mode of tram doors began in Lviv. This experiment was implemented to save on heating costs of trams KT4-D (№3, 6) and brand «Electron» (№1, 2, 8) in the cold season. Testing will continue until the end of March.

According to the press service of the municipal company «Lvivelectrotrans», access to open doors in trams, where available, will be constantly provided to passengers by the drivers, except during rush hours on weekdays (from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00), as well as situationally, given the presence of passengers at stops.

For example, the driver presses «Give permission» to open the door at a stop, and the passenger of trams №1, №2 or №8 will need to touch the button on the outside or inside of the vehicle, then the door will open. As for trams №3 and №6, the driver will also give permission at the stop. From the outside, you can press the button with your palm, and from the inside – the «Stop» button on the handrails.

«Lvivelectrotrans» asks passengers to be attentive and friendly and to help people of respectable age, children, and guests of the city, who may not immediately know how to act at stops or in the tram cabin during «off-peak» hours.

We will add that heating in salons of trams and trolleybuses is switched on by the driver for temperature decrease to -2 degrees and below.
