The energy system of Ukraine remains in a difficult situation due to the latest enemy attacks. Therefore, the government has temporarily suspended electricity exports, the Ukrenergo states in a Telegram message.
«There are currently no imports or exports of electricity. The absence of electricity exports from Ukraine is caused by the need to cover the country’s domestic consumption demand throughout the day and to provide reserves for the evening hours of maximum consumption.»
Nevertheless, the electricity generated is sufficient to meet the consumers’ needs. The available water resources currently allow hydropower plants to operate throughout the day.
In Lviv and other regions, the power grid may experience a capacity shortage in the summer due to a large-scale repair campaign to prepare for the next heating season in 2023-2024.
