As part of Lviv’s territorial defence unit, Oleh from Stryi district, nicknamed «Witcher», is defending Ukraine and destroying the Russian occupiers. The life credo of the warrior coincides with the leading mission of the main character in the series of novels «The Witcher» by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, Geralt from Rivia: to destroy monsters and protect people from the forces of evil.

However, unlike the universe of the book character, monsters in our reality are quite real. They are marked with the Latin «Z» and the Russian tricolour.
According to military media ArmyInfo, Oleh is a combat medic of the unit. And his colleagues claim that their «doc» is a real professional. Oleh’s parents are military. Prior to the Moscow invasion, the young man himself was thinking of a completely different career, having graduated from the Theological Academy in Vienna.
«While studying, I wrote a work on psychology. The topic was overcoming crises and PTSD in soldiers participating in the ATO/OOS [fighting on Donbas during 2014-2022]. I «did not have time» for the war in 2014, but now, I have joined the ranks of defenders and I am doing what I do well. The most important thing I learned in the army was the feeling of the real company. Fighting comrades will support, help, protect me with their fire. This is a very valuable feeling for me,» – said the combat medic.

Just before the war, Oleh made a tattoo on his right forearm in the form of a Ukrainian embroidered ornament, which became a symbolic talisman. He’s convinced that whatever the right arm does – destroys enemies or saves the lives of brothers, is done for Ukraine.
