Since the start of the new invasion in Ukraine, Russia has lost at least 3,500 troops killed and nearly 200 more captured. This was announced this morning, February 26, by the adviser to the head of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podoliak.
According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the police fully control the whole situation and the entire territory of Ukraine.
«If you show the faces of all these people who came to kill Ukrainians, then Russia will understand what it is doing in Ukraine and who is the initiator of the war. Here the question is different: the Russian media will not show anything. In Russia, on the third day of fighting throughout Ukraine, it is believed that Mr. Putin and his General Staff are conducting a «local operation» in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are fighting on a small piece of Ukrainian land,» – he said.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of this morning, the enemy has begun redeploying reserve units in the border areas with Ukraine and continues to carry out airstrikes on airfields, on the groups of Ukrainian Armed Forces in eastern Ukraine and northern Kyiv region.
Estimated losses of the enemy – 14 aircraft, 8 helicopters, 102 tanks, 536 BBM, 15 guns and 1 BUK-1.
Single airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Sumy, Poltava, Mariupol. From the Black Sea, the enemy launched Caliber naval-based cruise missiles across Ukraine. Russian aviation operations are managed from the territory of Belarus and Crimea. The temporary location of dozens of tanks in the Shumske area and BM-21 «Grad» volley fire missile systems in the Kosiv region has been established. The enemy has repeatedly used aircraft in the Yuzhnyi and Odesa districts, at Ozerne airfield, and in civilian infrastructure facilities in the Kyiv region. City battles are being fought in Okhtyrka. In the coastal direction in the Koblevo area, as a result of the fire of mechanized units of 28 men, a boat and up to 20 personnel of the enemies group were destroyed.
During the first day of the invasion, Ukrainians already killed 800 enemy soldiers and destroyed hundreds of military vehicles. Read more here.
