Kyiv is perceived as the capital, but we want to talk about Kyiv as a city. The city in which decisions are made quickly and implemented purposefully. In which the residents’ mood affects the fateful decisions for the country.

The city of meetings and the city of agreements. The capital city which competes and cooperates with other cities both internally, within the country, and externally, with the best cities in the world.

The city is created by people. So local (and not only) media should work in the interests of people and communities.

Media hub Tvoemisto.tv was created after the Revolution of Dignity and is an independent public media. Since 2014, we have been working daily to inform readers about the most important events in Lviv and the region. The media hub united the Tvoemisto.tv website, online television, a discussion platform and a printed newspaper.

The «Tvoe Misto» discussion platform has become a key ground for Lviv to discuss relevant issues and jointly find solutions. Since 2015, we have held more than three hundred important public discussions. We believe that this experience will be valuable for Kyiv as well. Kyiv during the war and the post-war, flourishing Kyiv.

«Tvoe Misto. Kyiv» is a modern independent media of the European capital; the city portal, which informs about current events in the social, political, and cultural life of the city, provides space for reflection and resolution of the issues, which are important for the capital.

We are an independent local media, equidistant from political forces, business groups, and officials. Our main task is to provide objective and unbiased information without silence, uncomfortable topics and «hidden ads».

Our mission is to promote sustainable community development through better awareness and reader-relevant discussions.

Our values are responsibility, professionalism, and closeness to people.

We’ve been creating local media in Lviv for eight years, and now we dared to gather a team of dedicated people in Kyiv who strive to capture every day the city lives, tell about its past, share the stories of the people who create it today and who see its future.

When choosing information sources, we proceed from the interests of the Kyiv residents, who are our target audience. We write about everything that may interest a potential resident of the capital: city culture, infrastructure projects, urban planning, buildings, stories of people who implement cool initiatives, volunteer, change the city for the better, fight for justice or conduct responsible business.

We also prepared a special issue of the newspaper about the year of heroic resistance in Kyiv. In it, we publish three materials from the «Kyiv of mine» project, in which publicists, historians, writers, journalists, intellectuals, and artists reflect on the city:

  • what Kyiv was like before the Russian full-scale invasion in February 2022;
  • how it developed: was it a typical post-Soviet city or a potentially European one;
  • how the city’s past influenced its development and personal history;
  • which forms the image of Kyiv primarily as a city for life, without which it would not be Kyiv.
  • what Kyiv can be like in the future, as the role of the community and each resident in its development.

Writer and human rights defender Larysa Denysenko, publicist Vitalii Portnikov, and former journalist Dmytro Krapyvenko, who is currently serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces, seek answers to these questions in our special issue.

We also tell the story about the residents of the building hit by missile debris on February 25, 2022, and give a column by the founder of the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, Pavlo Sheremeta, about his vision of the city.

We invite you to subscribe to our pages on social networks: Tvoe Misto and Kyiv -Tvoe Misto, follow news, reports, columns and interviews on urban Kyiv topics on our website Kyiv.tvoemisto.tv

Feedback is very important to us, and we find your comments, suggestions, and considerations extremely valuable. Mail us at [email protected]

We believe that with your help we will be able to become an important platform for the dialogue among active Kyivans who love their city and are ready to participate in its development.
