On the night of October 7, the Russian army staged another bloody night in Ukraine, "gifting" their dictator Putin on his birthday a massive combined attack on civilian and energy infrastructure. The enemy launched 70 missiles, a significant number of ballistic missiles, and "Shahed" drones at Kyiv and 12 regions. At least 11 people were killed and more than three dozen were injured as a result of the attacks.

This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the head of state, this was one of the most vile, demonstrative, and painful attacks, and one of the key targets of the Russians was Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Air defense forces managed to shoot down only a part of the targets, as Russian ballistic missiles remain the biggest challenge for air defense.

Consequences of enemy strikes in the regions

Chernihiv region (Pryluky): The Russian army directly hit an ordinary five-story building. Currently, 5 people are known to be dead and 26 injured, including five children. Rescuers are working continuously at the site, as people may still be under the rubble.

Dnipro: 5 apartment buildings were damaged by missile strikes. Two people were killed, and eight more were injured.

Poltava region (Kremenchuk): 4 apartment buildings were damaged.

Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families and friends of all those killed and once again emphasized Ukraine's critical need for air defense systems.

"Air defense packages for us now are a vital necessity. That is why we are looking for Patriot system missiles every day, which can and must truly protect people's lives here, in the Ukrainian sky," the President emphasized.
