UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said that by 2030 the military capabilities of the country's adversaries could enable them to strike. According to him, Britain has just over 1,000 days to prepare for a possible conflict together with its allies. He wrote about this in a column for The Telegraph.
According to him, the Defence Secretary's priority is to ensure Britain's readiness for war and its ability to win it.
The head of the British Defence Ministry also criticised the Conservative Party, which was in power in 2010–2024. He claims that after its rule the country had its smallest army since the Napoleonic Wars.
According to Streeting, his priority is to ensure the readiness of the British armed forces for war and their ability to win it. He also said the current government seeks to reach the target level of defence spending set for NATO countries.
