Important elections have taken place in several countries around the world. In Serbia, President Aleksandar Vučić admitted the defeat of his political camp in early parliamentary elections. In Brazil, the incumbent head of state, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, won the presidential election. In Bulgaria, none of the candidates received enough votes to win in the first round.

In Serbia, the student movement is winning

Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he had conceded defeat in the early parliamentary elections, writes "Ukrainska Pravda". Official results are not yet available, but reports say the opposition "Student List" is winning. According to forecasts, it is winning almost 53% of the vote and an absolute majority in parliament.

Recall that on September 9, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić dissolved the National Assembly and called early parliamentary elections. We add that since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Serbia has condemned the violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity, but refuses to join the EU and US sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation.

In Brazil, Lula won a fourth presidential term

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won the election, securing a historic fourth presidential term. This is reported by "The Guardian".

They note that the victory of the left-wing candidate has slowed the wave of right-wing victories across Latin America. By the way, tomorrow Lula turns 81.

Lula condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, although he believes that the blame lies not only with Russia but also with Ukrainian President Zelensky. He also stated that the US and the EU could have prevented the invasion if they had officially refused Ukraine's accession to NATO.

Brazil maintains a "neutral position" and does not supply weapons to Ukraine, and also prohibits other countries from selling their weapons to us.

A second round of presidential elections will take place in Bulgaria

Presidential elections are also underway in Bulgaria. Iliana Iotova, who is currently temporarily performing the duties of president, is preliminarily winning. She opposes military aid to Ukraine. As reported "Evropeiska Pravda" notes, after processing 95.29% of the votes, the data indicate Iotova's lead, with 34.59% of the vote.

According to data from the Central Election Commission, the second place is held by pro-Ukrainian former prime minister Andrey Gyurov with 32.03% of the vote.
