Due to the threat of another massive Russian missile strike on the territory of Ukraine, exceptional security measures have been taken in Poland. Airports in Lublin and Rzeszow have temporarily suspended the reception and dispatch of passenger flights at the request of the military. This is reported in a statement by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
In addition to closing airports in the border regions, the Polish Armed Forces scrambled military aircraft. Ground-based air defense systems and radar reconnaissance assets have also been deployed to the highest state of combat readiness.
The department emphasizes that these actions are preventive in nature and are primarily aimed at protecting the eastern regions of the country, which border areas of potential danger in Ukraine.
Currently, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces continues round-the-clock monitoring of the situation along the border. All involved forces and assets remain on full alert for immediate response to any threats to the country's airspace.
