Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha stated that the overnight attack on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Russia rejected the US-proposed "energy truce". He wrote about this on social media X.

According to Sybiha, during the overnight attack Russia launched 39 missiles and more than 120 drones at Ukraine. The main targets were energy infrastructure facilities.

"Putin is not just attacking Ukraine. He is openly defying the United States and treating with contempt every attempt to stop this war," the minister emphasized.

He urged international partners to strengthen sanctions against Russia, enforce compliance with them more strictly, and urgently provide Ukraine with additional air defense assistance.

"Putin must bear responsibility for rejecting peace, rather than receiving incentives to continue the war," Sybiha concluded.

Recall that US President Donald Trump earlier stated that an "energy truce" announced by him is in effect between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, he noted that reports of violations of the agreements need to be verified.

In the Kremlin, commenting on this statement, they said they had nothing to say on the matter. Later, reports appeared in Russian media that Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that "US President Donald Trump did not specify what exactly the energy truce between Ukraine and Russia should cover".

By the way, on October 9 Trump announced an agreement under which Russia is to supply 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the world market immediately, and more later.

As the Financial Times reported, Ukraine will continue to carry out long-range strikes on Russian energy facilities, despite the agreement reached by US President Donald Trump with Vladimir Putin on resuming exports of Russian diesel fuel.

US Democratic senators called President Donald Trump's decision to ease sanctions on the sale of Russian diesel fuel "a betrayal of Ukraine, European allies and US national security".
