A child died of dehydration in Mariupol, Donetsk region. This happened for the first time in decades, for the first time, probably, since the Nazi invasion, – President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in his address.

«Mariupol. Peaceful and hard-working city without any internal malice. It was surrounded. Blocked. And purposefully depleted. Purposefully tortured. The occupiers deliberately cut off communication. Deliberately block the delivery of food, water supply. Turn off the electricity.

Hear me today, dear partners! A child died of dehydration. In 2022,» – he says.

According to the President, the blame for every death of every person in Ukraine from airstrikes and in blocked cities is on the Russian state and Russian military. On those who give and carry out criminal orders, violate all the rules of war, and deliberately destroy the Ukrainian people. However, the responsibility for this is also on those in the Western [countries] who cannot make an obviously necessary decision in their offices for 13 days.

«For those who have not yet secured the Ukrainian sky from Russian assassins. Who did not save our cities from airstrikes. From these bombs, missiles. Although it can. Who doesn’t help lift the blockade,» – he added.

It will be recalled that the Russian occupiers began shelling Mariupol and its environs, violating the agreement on the «green corridor» to evacuate women and children and provide humanitarian aid to Mariupol.
