58 km between castles: a new cycling route has been opened in Lviv region

A new tourist cycling route "VeloPidkova" has been presented in Lviv region, which connects Zolochiv, Pidhirtsi, and Olesko castles and is 58 kilometers long. This is reported by the Lviv Regional State Administration.

The route is designed to promote active recreation, cycling tourism, and the historical and cultural heritage of the region.

"Zolochiv region is a beautiful land, full of architectural and cultural monuments, where there is much to learn and discover. Today we are launching a new cycling route, which will become another opportunity to actively spend leisure time, discover the beauty of our native land, and engage youth and families in this," the message reads.

The "VeloPidkova" route runs along the Zolochiv – Pidhirtsi – Olesko direction and combines three key objects of the tourist route "Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region": Zolochiv Castle, Pidhirtsi Castle, and Olesko Castle.

According to the mayor of Zolochiv, Ihor Hrynkiv, navigation signs and information pointers have already been installed at the starting stage. In the future, they plan to develop infrastructure and improve the safety of the route for cyclists.

The total cost of the project is 900 thousand UAH. Of this, 600 thousand UAH were funded from the regional budget, and another 300 thousand UAH from the budget of the Zolochiv community.
