Ukrainian young ballerina Maria Melnyk won one of the largest international dance competitions, Dance World Cup, becoming the absolute junior world champion. The girl announced this announced on her Facebook page.
In the youth ballet category, the dancer won 1st place and received an invitation to perform at the Grand Gala Concert. In addition, she was among the best young dancers of the competition in the 14–18 age category among over 11,500 participants from more than 60 countries.
Melnyk Maria is a student of the Lviv Linguistic Gymnasium and the Lviv Choreographic School. She has been studying classical dance since the age of two, as well as ballet, which has become an integral part of her life.
Besides ballet, she has many other hobbies that she continuously works on. Among them are music, journalism, reading, and especially foreign languages.
In 2025, she won the district English language olympiad. She participated in an international language project with students from India, which involved video conferences, correspondence, tests, and presentations. She presented the topic Biodiversity of Ukraine & India.
She took 5th place in the final of the All-Ukrainian NIT Olympiad – "Quests and Tests". She repeatedly won competitions in Ukrainian language and literature named after P. Yatsyk, T. Shevchenko, and others.
She is a journalist for the "Pink Glasses" studio, has repeatedly appeared as a host of segments, and conducted interviews.
Achievements:
1st place and a cash prize from People's Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Bondur at IBMC 2025 in Kyiv;
Royal Academy of Dance – special award Junior Summer School Tuition Award 2024, London, UK;
All-Ukrainian competition Show Your Dance 2025 – Grand Prix, 1st place;
Terytoriya Pa 2024-25: 7 performances with the highest number of points — 40 (1st places), 5 jury distinctions;
Children and Youth Competition of the Lviv Residence of Classical and Contemporary Dance named after Roma Pryima, 1st place;
All-Ukrainian competition "Another Dimension" – two 1st places.



We remind you that Yulia Havryliak, originally from the village of Krasne in Lviv region, for the second time in a row won gold at the Ukrainian Athletics Championships in the 800 meters distance. The athlete won at the national championship for adults and youth, which took place from July 10–12 in Lviv at the "SKIF" stadium.
