Attacks on Ukrainians in Poland are a consequence of the policy of the "United Right" camp and the leader of the "Law and Justice" (PiS) party, Jarosław Kaczyński. This statement was made by Polish government spokesperson Adam Szłapka.

According to him, manifestations of xenophobia and a sense of impunity "do not happen without a reason." He believes that it was precisely Jarosław Kaczyński who brought radicals into Polish politics, who use far-right rhetoric and provoke conflicts.

At the same time, the government spokesperson noted that the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has not yet commented on cases of attacks on Ukrainians.

At the same time, he stressed that Polish law enforcement agencies are responding promptly to such crimes. For hate-motivated attacks, those responsible face up to five years in prison, and, according to the government spokesperson, "there will be no leniency here."

Recently, cases of attacks on Ukrainians and manifestations of xenophobia have become more frequent in Poland. Experts warn that such a trend could negatively affect Ukrainian-Polish relations, as well as provoke an outflow of Ukrainian workers, which would have consequences for the Polish economy.

We remind you that in Poland there was another attack on Ukrainian citizens due to their national origin. In Wrocław, unknown individuals beat a young couple - a girl named Nastya and her boyfriend Maksym. The girl's mother stated that the attackers reacted aggressively to the Ukrainian language and accent. The next day, two suspects were detained in Poland. They face imprisonment.

Also, earlier, the leader of the Polish opposition party "Law and Justice," Jarosław Kaczyński, in a letter to the members of the political force, stated, that Ukraine will not be able to join the European Union without changing its political course, and called the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, "a Banderite".
