The «fugitive» people’s deputy and godfather of Russian President Viktor Medvedchuk was found to have a «golden» dining car with a bunch of valuable items such as a gilded toilet, glasses with the coat of arms of the Russian Federation decorated with gold, etc. This was reported by Ukrainian investigative journalists’ group Slidstvo.Info.
According to the group, a railway platform was built for Medvedchuk’s car in the yard of his luxurious palace in Pushcha-Vodytsia. Ukrainian designers designed a car for him in the style of Pullman, a company that makes luxury cars and railway cars.
Such Pullman dining cars were popular in the last century when wealthy Europeans travelled by rail. The real cars of this company cost up to $ 2.5 million dollars. Oleksii, the master related to the creation of this carriage, said that this was not an original Pullman but an identical copy, and was presented to Medvedchuk by his wife, TV moderator Oksana Marchenko.
«The work lasted about a year. Designers drew this car from sketches of several Pullman cars, Oksana Marchenko approved the project and everything was assembled by hand. More than a hundred workers were involved – one company made the roof, another – the side panels, others were engaged in finishing,» – Oleksii says.
Nevertheless, the investigators of Slidstvo.info assume, even such a copy would cost at least hundreds of thousands of dollars.
