The Russian occupiers dropped a heavy bomb on the Mariupol Drama Theater, which became a shelter for about a thousand refugees who lost their homes. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Azov Regiment and the former head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Serhii Taruta on Facebook.

The occupiers continue to commit genocide against the Ukrainian people. Azov fighters note that the aggressor doubtlessly knew that the drama theatre building has become a hiding place for hundreds of city residents who are left without a roof over their heads and livelihoods.

«The Drama Theater, the city’s cultural centre, has been identified as a gathering place for refugees who have lost their homes and livelihoods. The occupiers could not help but know this, because it was an officially determined place. It is known that almost a thousand civilians from Mariupol were hiding in the theatre. The number of dead and wounded is currently unknown. Many Mariupol residents hid in the theatre with small children. This theatre was a shelter in which the inhabitants of besieged Mariupol escaped from continuous shelling,» – the regiment said in a statement.

The military emphasizes that the world must hear the cries of Mariupol residents, who were buried alive under the rubble.

«A huge number of citizens were hiding from the shelling, it is unknown how many people died under the rubble. Now, there are fierce battles. No one can reach the blockages, we don’t know if there are any survivors. And the worst thing is that we can’t get them out from under the rubble. Many Mariupol residents hid in the theatre with small children! The bomb shelter is also covered up, there are also people, children,» – Serhii Taruta said.

Ukrainians are asked to share, speak and call to save Mariupol.

It will be recalled that yesterday, the occupiers seized a hospital in Mariupol and held medical staff and patients hostage.
