Another 200,000 Ukrainian children are expected to attend Polish schools in the next academic year. This was noted by the Minister of Education and Science of Poland, Przemysław Czarnek, «Polish Radio» reports.
«We accepted 200,000 (Ukrainian children), of which 160,000 went to schools and 40,000 to kindergartens. According to our estimates, another 200,000 may join from September 1. The end of the war in Ukraine is not in sight, therefore, naturally, those children who will probably stay here will come again,» – says the minister.
According to Przemyslaw Czarnek, since distance learning is also possible in Ukraine, most of the children in Poland will probably want to stay at the computers and continue studying with their peers remotely.
The minister noted that the system is flexible, so Poland is ready to accept Ukrainian children. In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science of the country proposed to first create Ukrainian classes in Polish schools and teach them mainly in the Polish language, which made it possible to enter the new school year at an appropriate educational level.
We would like to remind you that in the new academic year, schools in Lviv plan to start the educational process from September 1 in face-to-face form. It’s preliminarily planned that students of grades 1-5 will study in-person, students in grades 6-10 will have face-to-face education, one day a week remotely, while a combination of face-to-face and distance education is possible for 11th-graders, depending on the semester.
