The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported operational information as of 00.00 on March 7, 2022. According to the statement, Russia has focused its efforts on taking control of Mariupol and surrounding Kyiv with further capture. The enemy also wants to reach the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
In addition, Russia has been regrouping over the past 24 hours to storm Kyiv. For this goal, the occupiers plan to use the most capable units of the Ramzan Kadyrov Rosguard Special Regiment (the city of Grozny), the 27th Detachment of the Kuzbass (Kemerovo), 604th special forces unit Vityaz (Moscow) of the Rosguard and the «Liga» Private Military Company (former «PVK Wagner»).
In the Polissya direction, the enemy concentrated in the areas of the settlements of Poliske, Kukhari, Borodyanka, Byshiv, Horenychi, and Demydiv. In the northern direction, Russia is trying to block Chernihiv and prepare for an attack on Sumy.
On the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy concentrates the main efforts on the directions of Kaniv and Novomoskovsk. Trying to enter Izium (Kharkiv region), the enemy suffered losses and withdrew. The occupiers resorted to terror in the city.
In the Donetsk direction, Russia continues its offensive in the direction of the Dnieper and Zaporizhzhia. To advance in the direction of the Severodonetsk, the Russian army moves 150th Motorized Rifle Division. Attempts to break through the defences of Volnovakha and Mariupol failed.
On the Tavriya direction, the enemy concentrated efforts in the direction of Mykolaiv, Voznesensk and Zaporizhzhia. The enemy aimed up to 3 battalion tactical groups from the 19th Motorized Rifle Division of the 58th General Army at Melitopol and Mariupol.
In the Yuzhnobuzhsky operating area of the enemy stopped on approaches to Mykolaiv.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that the morale of the enemy is low. He is demoralized by great losses.
It will be recalled that during the fighting near Kharkiv, the Chief of Staff, First Deputy Commander of the 41st General Army, Major General Vitaliy Gerasimov, was killed, and several senior officers of the Army Staff were killed and wounded.
