Oleksii Reznikovm the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, stated that the Russian occupiers are trying to somehow maintain the combat effectiveness of their units, but they are gradually getting worse. This is evidenced by the repeated facts of the capture of groups of Russian soldiers and officers and the refusal to continue the offensive.
In Russia, relatives of prisoners and victims are beginning to protest. According to him, the total lies of Russian propaganda are cracking.
«The enemy was afraid of direct contact with Ukrainian defenders. Therefore, he turned to the criminal tactics of long-range shelling of peaceful cities. Air and missile strikes from Russia and Belarus on residential buildings and schools, shelling from maternity hospitals – this is cowardly behaviour of those who have no honour. These are not military – they are terrorists, representatives of the terrorist state. And this stamp is for a long time,» – he said.
The enemy viciously fired on peaceful Zhytomyr, a regional centre on the West of Kyiv. In his opinion, this is an attempt to take revenge for the successful completion of the task, conducted by the 95th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Donbas. The occupiers aimed at the brigade’s barracks and at nearby houses. By attacking the women and children of our soldiers, he continues, the Kremlin will not achieve the result it wants.
«Currently, many of our cities and villages suffer from Russian terror, but most of all – Kharkiv, Mariupol and Kherson. This is superfluous proof that no «Russian world» exists. There is a Nazi ideology in the head of a handful of maniacs who still hold power in Russia. And there are Ukrainian citizens who speak different languages, go to different churches and houses of worship, together they put up heroic resistance to the Russian occupiers. And we will definitely win,» – he added.
Yesterday, Oleksii Reznikov also spoke with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Even the experienced American military is delighted with the professionalism of our defenders and the resilience of our people. Accordingly, the amount of aid we receive is growing, the number of countries that provide this aid is increasing, and even those for whom it was considered impossible are joining.
«New bayraktars have already arrived in Ukraine and are on combat duty. There will be more Stingers and Javelins. Europe is becoming our rear and supplying what is critical for defence. We are at the forefront of the free world. I am proud of everyone who is defending their home from the Russian invasion today. I bow my head to those who sacrificed their lives,» – Reznikov said.
And after the victory, we honour their memory so that centuries later Ukrainians praise the heroes of Gostomel, Kherson, Chernihiv, Sumy, Shchastia, Volnovakha, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Okhtyrka and other cities, as we honour our heroic ancestors, starting with chronicle princes.
It will be recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the Russian aggressor in such a way that he was forced to mobilize reserves to continue the offensive. The enemy lost the tactical initiative and slowed down, while the Ukrainian army went on the offensive for the first time after the six days of the war, according to Oleksii Arestovych, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
