Russian POW urges his compatriots to go back home from Ukraine until they have such a chance, because later, they all would feel shame for merely being Russians. The captured Russian soldier held this extraordinary speech for a Ukrainian media UNIAN, evidencing of how Putin lied to his army and his people.

According to him, Moscow told the Russian people and soldiers they were going to free Ukrainians from a «Nazi regime,» but when the Russians come here, they find a peaceful democratic country of people who treat even captured invaders well.

The soldier speaks of how hard it was for him to watch videos of the Ukrainian professional boxers whom he used to cheer on, to see them moved to tears talking of taking up arms to defend their country.

«We brought sorrow to this land,» – he claims, saying he and his colleagues must face the consequences, while asking for forgiveness, and telling the world how uninformed the Russian people are.
