On the 12th day of the heroic confrontation of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion, the enemy continues to launch missile-bomb and artillery strikes on the settlements of Ukraine. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
At the same time, the invaders continue to use the airfield network of the Republic of Belarus to carry out airstrikes on Ukraine.
«By acting insidiously, the occupiers are violating the rules of international humanitarian law, shelling civilians, «green corridors», taking women and children hostage, placing equipment, ammunition in residential areas of cities, artificially creating a humanitarian crisis in the occupied settlements. This way, the city of Irpin remains deprived of light, water and heat for more than three days, there is no supply of food and water, the occupiers forbade citizens to leave their homes,» – the statement reads.
According to the Ukrinian General Staff, there are numerous cases of filming for Russian TV channels about the alleged humaneness of the invaders’ soldiers. Also, on social networks, the enemy continues to distribute the content created from the first person, which negatively covers the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Group of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carries out a defence operation in all areas of the enemy advance. The enemy continues to suffer heavy losses in manpower, ground equipment and means of air attack. It often surrenders to captivity.
We will recall that according to the Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the Russian authorities are preparing to implement a probable scenario, which involves shelling residential areas of Russian cities near the Ukrainian border, in order to further accuse the Ukrainian military.
«According to the Kremlin leadership, this will be used as a basis for declaring a general mobilization in Russia. Taking into account the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine, provocations in Russian cities will be accompanied by numerous civilian casualties in order to create a «beautiful picture» – the statement said.
It should be added that Russia has repeatedly used similar scenarios as a pretext for hostilities in Afghanistan, Chechnya and Abkhazia.
