On the seventh day of the war with Russia’s aggressor state, the frontier guards of the 5th frontier detachment, together with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reached the state border of Ukraine in the Sumy region. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security Council for Defense Oleksii Danilov.
«The servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are perfectly performing the task of ruthlessly destroying the Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine,» – he said in a statement on Facebook.
As for the general situation, according to him, the russian occupation forces failed to make significant progress in any of the areas during the day, the offensive was stopped. Belarusian territory and its armed forces, as evidenced by some sources, are used in the war with Ukraine.
«Realizing the failure of its ‘Barbarossa-2022’ plan and facing the highly effective activities of the Ukrainian military and territorial defence, the Kremlin changed its tactics by launching massive shelling of residential neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure in dozens of cities, such as Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, in particular, with the use of weapons prohibited by the Geneva Convention,» – he said.
The hottest direction of the day, he continues, is Odesa. The city of Kyiv continues to defend itself heroically. Measures are being taken to identify and destroy the occupier’s sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
We will recall that on March 1 in the Sumy region the first exchange of captivities took place. There, five fighters of the Territorial Defence of Ukraine were returned to Ukraine for one russian military police officer.
