Yesterday, May 3, at 8:30 p.m., a missile strike was launched in Lviv from the Caspian Sea. The air defence recorded six missiles, 2 of which were shot down by the Ukrainian military over the region. Another 3 hit electrical substations and damaged their facilities, and one reached Transcarpathia. According to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv regional military administration, this was a deliberate blow to the supply chains, including humanitarian aid from the West.

Two people in Lviv were injured in the rocket attack because of being near one of the substations. The first one is a 58-year-old man from Transcarpathia. The shock wave, according to Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi, pushed him against the wall. The man had a blow to the chest, a ruptured lung. An operation has been performed so far and there is no threat to life. The other is a 24-year-old boy. He has shrapnel wounds to the extremities. The operation has already been carried out, some of the fragments have been removed, but another one will have to be done. There are no threats to life.

In addition, as of the evening of May 3, more than 85,000 households in over 12 settlements in the Lviv region were left completely without electricity, another 5 – partially. About 250,000 people were deprived of electric power.

«As of this morning, 630 households, or 2,000 people, are still without electricity. Employees of both Lviv Railway and «Lvivoblenergo» are working to eliminate and be able to supply electricity,» – he reported during a briefing.

Andrii Sadovyi adds that two Lviv medical institutions have also been switched to autonomous power supply, and water supply systems to reserve water supply.

«Utilities worked quickly and still work. There is a lot of damage. Windows flew out, a large garage cooperative was located in the area of the attack, where locks and doors were blown out. The radius of damage is high, the fragments that fly out are life-threatening,» – he said.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported a delay in trains at the entrance to Lviv. As of 8.30 am on May 4, these were the following trains:

It will be recalled that on the evening of May 3, the Russians launched missile strikes on Lviv. Three power substations were damaged, causing power outages in some areas of the city. The lights were planned to be restored during the night, but as of the morning of May 4, some residents and two pumping stations are still without electricity.
