In the complete absence of electricity, Lviv is ready to provide residents with a sanitary volume of water so that the city can live and function properly in the event of an emergency.

The protocol of the city commission on technogenic-ecological safety and emergency situations was published after its meeting on 14 February. According to it, the enterprises, institutions, organizations of all forms of ownership, including preschool, secondary, vocational, higher education, preschool and out-of-school facilities, public and private gyms and fitness centres, who own or use swimming pools, must stop the planned sanitary and repair works and fill them with water.

Heads of district administrations should conduct surveys of water sources for the possibility of their use to meet sanitary needs, in particular, for the use of the State Emergency Service. The Department of Housing and Communal Services should increase the reserve number of water tankers. At the same time, public utilities are obliged to replenish the available water supply for economic needs and organize the repair of water sources (reservoirs, fire ponds, ponds, lakes, cooling towers).

It will be recalled that Lviv has approved an action plan in the event of a military threat from Russia. Blood reserves will also be increased in Lviv, and city hospitals will be provided with a three-month supply of medicines and other materials in case of an emergency. Also, all utilities in medical institutions were carried out to the appropriate level, provided with water supplies and diesel generators.
