In Lviv announced the creation of the "Helmet of Memory" online museum dedicated to Ukrainian athletes killed by Russia. This was announced during "Molodvizh 2026" in Lviv by the Vladyslav Heraskevych Foundation and the Memorial Platform of Memory.

The future digital museum is based on the commemorative helmet of Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych with portraits of 22 fallen Ukrainians. Among them are adults and children, fallen defenders of Ukraine, and civilians who died as a result of Russian aggression.

The helmet was created by artist Iryna Prots. In February 2026, Heraskevych went to the Winter Olympic Games in Milan wearing it. The athlete was banned from competing in this helmet due to the images of fallen Ukrainians, and later stripped of his accreditation.

Now, the stories of the people whose portraits were on the helmet are to be preserved in digital format. The basis of the online museum will be a 3D model of the helmet, through which visitors can navigate and learn the story of each person.

The museum is planned to be bilingual, to tell about the fallen Ukrainian athletes not only in Ukraine but also abroad. It will be gradually filled with materials.

The online museum is planned to be fully completed and presented on February 12, 2027. This date will be symbolic, as it will mark one year since Heraskevych was disqualified from the Olympics for the helmet with portraits of fallen Ukrainians.
