1200 km strike: Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russia's only helium plant and space communication center

Gazprom's giant in the Orenburg region, a long-range communication center near Vladimir, and drone storage facilities in Belgorod came under attack by Ukrainian drones.

On the night of June 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched large-scale strikes on strategic targets on the territory of the Russian Federation. In particular, a unique gas processing complex in the Orenburg region, located over 1200 kilometers from the line of combat contact, came under attack. This was reported reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Strike on the enemy's fuel and missile industry

In the Orenburg region, Ukrainian units hit the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and Russia's only helium plant. These enterprises operate as one complex and have strategic significance for the Russian Federation's military-industrial complex:

The Orenburg GPP is one of the largest in the world (commissioned in 1974). Its capacity is 45 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which accounts for 60% of all processing by Gazprom Processing. The plant produces purified gas and sulfur, which Russians use to produce explosives and black powder.

The helium plant produces helium (necessary for the liquid-fuel engines of rockets and guidance systems) and ethane (a component for specialty plastics, cable insulation in aviation, and solid rocket fuel).

A fire was recorded on the territory of both enterprises; the extent of the damage is currently being clarified.

Strikes on space communication and drone storage facilities

In addition, according to the General Staff, Ukrainian units damaged at least two buildings on the territory of the "Vladimir" space communication center in the Vladimir region of the Russian Federation; a fire also broke out there. This center ensures the operation of satellite and long-range space communication systems, which the Kremlin uses in the interests of its security forces.

Enemy logistical and command posts also came under attack:

Belgorod region: an FPV drone storage facility was destroyed in the Alekseyevka district.

UAV command posts: enemy positions were hit in the areas of Chasiv Yar (Donetsk region), Basan and Grozove (Zaporizhzhia), Tyotkino and Popovo-Lezhachi (Kursk region of the Russian Federation), as well as Zhuravlivka (Belgorod region of the Russian Federation).

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to systematically reduce the capabilities of the Russian aggressor to wage war against Ukraine," the General Staff emphasized.

We remind you that the Ukrainian military confirmed the destruction of two Russian naval unmanned boats, which occurred on June 23 in the northwestern part of the Black Sea waters.
