"During the URC conference in Gdansk, I met with UN Under-Secretary-General and UN-Habitat Executive Director Ana Claudia Rossbach and representatives of the UN-Habitat organization's leadership. We talked about further cooperation, in which Kyiv is interested. I would like to note that UN-Habitat has accompanied Kyiv in formulating practical and effective steps for updating the capital's General Plan through an open international competition. With clear rules, professional evaluation, and international expertise. Specifically, involving ISOCARP – an international professional organization of urban planners, which has developed proposals on the approach to conducting such a competition.", – Vitali Klitschko wrote.
The mayor emphasized that Kyiv currently expects further practical support from UN-Habitat for the implementation of these developments during the competition. This is necessary to attract qualified specialists and select a developer capable of preparing a modern, European-level General Plan for Kyiv.
Klitschko added that foreign partners are committed to further effective cooperation, support, and assistance to the capital, for which he expressed his gratitude.
