Lviv chess players successfully performed at the European Championship for boys and girls in Rzeszów, Poland. According to the results of the rapid (fast chess) competitions, four representatives from Lviv won medals and climbed the podium. This was reported reported by the Lviv City Council's sports office.
The European Championship for boys and girls in Rzeszów brought together participants aged 8 to 18. Competitions are held in rapid (fast chess) and blitz (lightning chess) disciplines. Among the prize-winning representatives from Lviv were:
The vice-champion of Europe in rapid chess among boys under 8 became Demian Vozny. He is a pupil of the Lviv Chess Academy, where he trains under coaches Nazar Firman and Hennadii Koval. Demyan is also the champion of "Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues" as part of Lviv Lyceum No. 93 among students in grades 1-4.

Solomiia Svitenko (coach - Volodymyr Hrabynskyi) - European champion among girls under 14;
Maksym Dubnevych (coaches - Volodymyr Hrabynskyi, Martyn Kravtsiv) - silver medalist among boys under 18;
Mariia Kinash (coaches - Volodymyr Hrabynskyi, Andriy Zazuliak) - bronze medalist among girls under 12.



By the way, on July 9, Ukrainian chess players continue their fight for awards in the blitz chess tournament. The Ukrainian team expects to replenish its medal tally with new achievements.
We remind you that a new program for young sports talents GORO Ascension has started in the Slavska community. It is launched by GORO Mountain Resort to support children and teenagers who are already showing results in sports and want to move forward. During the pilot stage of GORO Ascension, three young athletes will be selected. The total budget for the first round is UAH 750,000.
