On August 1, the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin resumed search operations in the village of Tarnawa-Kolonia, Lublin Voivodeship, where a military object fell on Thursday. Detailed laboratory analysis showed the need to find another fragment of a Russian Kh-101 missile. This element was found and retrieved. This is reported by the Polish publication "RMF24".

It is noted that investigators returned to the scene in Tarnawa-Kolonia today to continue procedural and technical actions. According to Marcin Kozak, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin, key evidence was already collected during the inspection of the crash site on Thursday using a ground-penetrating radar and metal detectors. However, further laboratory analysis indicated the need to find another fragment of the object.

The decision to expand the search area was due to the terrain's features and the high probability that the sought-after element was at a significant depth, inaccessible to standard measuring devices. Specialized deep-scanning equipment was used during the operation. The area was secured by the Military Gendarmerie.

On August 1, after lunch, the prosecutor announced that the re-inspection of the area near Tarnawa-Kolonia had been completed, and the sought-after fragment had been found and retrieved for investigative purposes.

Representatives of the prosecutor's office emphasized that the found fragment did not pose a threat to the life or health of local residents.

The military department of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin is conducting the investigation into this case. The investigation is being carried out on the grounds of violating Poland's airspace and creating a threat to aviation safety.

We remind you that on the night of July 30, during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, Poland put its air defense forces on high alert, scrambled fighter jets, and deployed an airborne early warning aircraft. The reason was the intense activity of Russian long-range aviation and the movement of missiles near the Polish border.

In connection with the incident involving the Russian Kh-101 missile, which violated Polish airspace and fell in the Lublin Voivodeship, NATO statedthat it maintains close contact with the Polish authorities.
