An explosion occurred at the central train station in Augsburg, Bavaria on the morning of September 2, with local media reporting two Ukrainian citizens among the injured. This is reported by "Ukrainska Pravda."

The explosion in a passageway of the station building near a bank was reported by the North Swabia police on "X".

As a result of the explosion, two people sustained minor injuries. Local newspaper Presse Augsburg reportedthat the injured – a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old young man – are citizens of Ukraine. They reportedly suffered minor acoustic trauma.

Windows in the building were also damaged.

Law enforcement officers cordoned off the station building and the first platform. All other platforms continued to operate for some time, and passengers were advised to use the south and north entrances to the station.

Later, law enforcement reported the closure of the entire building after a suspicious object was discovered. Train traffic was halted.

Specialists from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office were called to the scene for the investigation. According to the police, it is still unclear what the object was and how the explosion occurred.

As reported, on the night of September 2, a suspicious incident occurred at one of the substations near Cologne; police suspect malicious actions and a connection to another incident in Brandenburg.

Investigators are examining a possible connection of the event to a recent sabotage attempt in Brandenburg, where an attempt was made to damage the largest power plant. 

"UP" adds that the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, stated that Kyiv is already actively cooperating with Berlin to help Germany counter Russian sabotage.

For reference, a 41-year-old resident of Siedlce, Poland was accused of insulting a minor 13-year-old Ukrainian girl based on her nationality and using violence against her because of her citizenship.
