Despite the ongoing negotiations, Russia refuses to allow the possibility of evacuation and humanitarian aid for the civillians in the settlements surrounded by its troops. In particular, on March 13, the occupiers blocked another convoy with humanitarian aid to Mariupol, while President Zelenskyi announced that Ukraine will continue its efforts to help its besieged citizens until they are successful. On March 14, «green corridors» in the Sumy region will not be possible, as none of the routes is agreed – the head of the Sumy military administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi announced and added that the talks on this topic continue. At the same time, no green corridors are planned in Kherson region for March 14, and any information about their organisation today is fake, a local People’s Deputy Serhii Kozyr said.
Below is the chronology of «green corridors» that were disabled by the Russian occupational forces.
06.03.22, an attempt at a «green corridor» for civilians again ended in shelling by the Russians – in Mariupol, the occupiers disrupted the evacuation.
09.03.22 The Russian occupiers cynically deprived half a million Mariupol residents of water, electricity, heat and communications. All exits and entrances to the city have been blocked. All attempts to deliver food and medicine were blocked by the Russian army. Attempts to evacuate Mariupol residents and save people’s lives were blocked
09.03.22 In fact, there was no «green corridor» in Izyum in the Kharkiv region – despite heavy shelling by the Russian occupiers, local authorities and Ukrainian terrorist defence units managed to evacuate about 250 residents. of the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region
10.03.22 Evacuation by the «green corridor» in Sumy March 10. The Russian occupiers have traditionally fired on the evacuation column in Trostyanets in the Sumy region. Fortunately, no one was injured. But innocent children were frightened.
12.03.22 A column of civilians moving along a green corridor was fired upon in the Kyiv region. The shelling killed seven people, including one child. The number of injured is unknown. After the shooting, the Russian invaders forced the remnants of the column to return to the village of Peremoha and did not let them leave. Currently, it is almost impossible to establish contact with them, as well as provide humanitarian and medical assistance.
And this is only a small part of the «green corridors» that were torn down and shelled by the Russian occupiers. Not to mention that they made it impossible to provide first aid or even water. Water, medicine and food were blocked by the shelling of these non-humans.
As a result, what seemed impossible in the 21st century has happened. This is terrible news for Europe. This is a terrible reality for Ukraine.
We will add that as a result of the brutality of the occupiers, a 6-year-old girl died of dehydration in Mariupol. Her mother died. No one knows how long our little, strong Mariupol woman fought for her life. We cannot imagine how much suffering that innocent child had to endure. In the last minutes of her life, she was alone, exhausted, frightened and felt terribly thirsty.
