Lviv Now has prepared a list of home care courses offered by organizations in Lviv.

Due to the growing aggression from Russia, a civilian training program was approved in Lviv. In approximately a week, local residents will be able to register and learn how to shoot, protect themselves or provide first aid.

In order to gain relevant skills and be able to help themselves or their family ones in the event of an emergency, several organizations are already offering Lviv residents first-aid courses, in the Ukrainian language. Lviv Now has prepared a list of such trainings that are currently available in the city.

NGO «First aid courses CAB»

Basic course

Classes are held according to modern standards, 70% of them is a practice consisting of assistance in bleeding, accidents, cardiac arrest, heart attacks, strokes, chest problems, work with automatic defibrillators, epilepsy, strangulation, drowning, ambulance call, burns, frostbite, injuries and other situations.

The course is designed for people without basic medical education, as well as for physicians who want to practice modern equipment according to the new standards of first aid. A certificate is issued for each participant after completing the course.

Official international course: Basic Life Support from ERC

Upon successful completion of the course, the student receives an international certificate BLS provider. The certificate is valid for 2 years.

First aid for children

Here you will learn to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation for children, call an ambulance, act in case of drowning, suffocation, convulsions, bleeding, burns, frostbite, poisoning, injuries and more.

Super- Me (for children 6 – 12 years)

Instructors will teach the child the knowledge and skills of first aid, including taking care of their own safety, calling for help, detecting and helping with stroke and heart attack, bleeding and injuries, burns or frostbite, etc.

Maltese Aid Service

The service operates in accordance with European standards and complies with Ukrainian legislation, which prescribes the actions of non-physicians in various emergencies.

After training, certificates are issued here as well. The desire to help is the main requirement for course participants, according to the Maltese Service. However, if a person has the opportunity to make a voluntary charitable contribution, the service will be happy to receive it, and the money will be spent on disinfection, gloves and mannequins that wear out from time to time.

However, if a person cannot pay, the service promises to accept him for courses, because «if he saves someone, it will be the best payment for training.» In total, the course lasts 8 hours for groups of 10 people. The trainers of the Service base their training on practical skills, which involves performing many exercises. You can get to the courses both individually and in groups. The data of all comers are recorded, and after the accumulation of the minimum number of people, a group is recruited here and people are informed.
