On 22 January, solemn events will be held to mark the Day of Unity. It will be the 103rd anniversary since the time the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic was proclaimed in 1919. At that time, Western Ukraine fought for its independence against Poland, while the UPR tried to preserve its independence from Russian Bolsheviks and Red Army.

The events will take place from 11:00 to 12:10 in several locations in Lviv. These are the Lychakiv Cemetery, the Memorial to the Soldiers of the Ukrainian Galician Army, the chapel where Yevhen Petrushevych, the President of the National Council of the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic is buried, and the fields of honorary burials №76 and №67.
