The court postponed the announcement of Poroshenko’s measure of restraint

The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv postponed the announcement of a measure of restraint for Petro Poroshenko to 2 pm tomorrow, 19 January. This became known from a live broadcast of the Suspilne media.

It should be noted that during the process yesterday, the court left for the deliberation room at about 6 p.m. It became known that the decision was postponed to 19 January at 10:45 p.m.

We will remind you that former President Petro Poroshenko was signed on suspicion of treason and aiding terrorism as part of an investigation into the illegal supply of coal from the occupied territories. People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, connected to Putin, is also a suspect in the case. Earlier, Poroshenko was summoned for questioning, but he said he was abroad. The Office of the Prosecutor General approved a request to impose a measure of restraint on former President Petro Poroshenko in the form of arrest with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 1 billion.

This morning, 17 January, he flew to Kyiv’s Zhulyany airport from Warsaw. Thousands of supporters gathered near the airport to support the former president. In particular, many Lviv residents came to the action.

According to the Ukrainska Pravda, after arriving during customs control, Poroshenko’s passport was confiscated and he could not get it back, but it was returned a few minutes after the officer of State Bureau f Investigation instructed the customs employees. Investigation officers also tried to serve a summons on the former president, but he refused to take them.
