The second round of talks between Ukraine and Russia ended on March 3. According to the Adviser to the Head of the President’s Office Mykhailo Podoliak, the Ukrainian delegation did not get the results it expected. The sides «agreed» on the provision of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of residents from regions where fierce hostilities are taking place. He stated this at a briefing following the talks.

Currently, residents of many settlements are in a dramatic situation – there are problems with food, medicine, the possibility of evacuation, Podoliak said.

«The parties agreed to jointly provide humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians, as well as for the delivery of medicines and food to the sites of the fiercest fighting, with the possibility of a temporary ceasefire for the period of evacuation in the sectors where it is conducted,» – Mykhailo Podoliak stated.

According to him, a ceasefire is possible in the places where humanitarian corridors will be located during the evacuation of the population. Therefore, special channels of communication and interaction will be organized and appropriate logistics procedures will be formed in the near future.
