Over the past day, May 9, despite the declared "truce" between Ukraine and Russia, 147 combat engagements were recorded at the front. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The greatest activity of Russian troops was observed in several directions. Specifically, in the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the occupiers carried out 30 shellings of Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, one of them using multiple launch rocket systems. Two assault attempts were also recorded.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions nine times near Prylipka, Izbytske, Starytsia, Ternova, Petro-Ivanivka, Synelnykove, and Novovasylivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army attempted to advance toward Kupiansk once. Ukrainian forces repelled five more attacks in the Lyman direction—near Lyman, Zarichne, Yampil, and Ozerne.
Combat operations also continued in the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Kostiantynivka directions. In the latter, Russian troops carried out 11 attacks.
Ukrainian defenders repelled the most assaults in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions. In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 28 attacks, and in the Huliaipole direction—27. Fighting took place near a number of settlements, including Bilytske, Udachne, Hryshyne, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Zlahoda, and Verkhnia Tersa.
Furthermore, in the Oleksandrivsk direction, Russian troops attempted to attack Ukrainian positions five times.
As a reminder, a "regime of silence" was established between Ukraine and Russia for May 9, 10, and 11.
