Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Robert Brovdi commented on the new strikes by Ukrainian forces on targets in temporarily occupied Crimea and announced further actions regarding the peninsula.
According to him, in recent months, Ukrainian forces have been systematically hitting Russia's military infrastructure both in the occupied territories and directly on Russian territory. He also noted that these attacks, along with the lack of significant successes by Russian troops on the front line, have intensified discussions about the possible end of the war in 2026.
Brovdi stated that Crimea remains a "key trophy" and an element of ideology for Moscow, however, its use as a military staging ground, in his assessment, is a "military absurdity".
He also described the further strategy as the systematic destruction of air defense systems, hitting remnants of the fleet, exhausting logistics and resources, as well as creating transport and energy restrictions on the peninsula.

The commander separately addressed Ukrainians in the occupied territories, urging them to stay away from military facilities and adhere to safety measures amidst active hostilities.
"The bird works with surgical precision, but risks remain," he noted, commenting on the work of Ukrainian unmanned systems.
According to him, Crimea has strategic and psychological significance, and Russia's control over it is not stable.
On the night of June 21, Ukrainian forces launched a series of strikes on targets in Crimea and on the territory of the Russian Federation, including the "Kavkaz" port infrastructure in the Krasnodar Krai and a fuel depot in Kerch. Restrictions on fuel sales on the peninsula were also reported.
