The Irish company for the production of thermal insulation and building materials «Kingspan» plans to create an enterprise in the Lviv region. In particular, the manufacturer intends to invest 200 million euros in a new construction technology campus in Ukraine and plans to create about 600 jobs. This was reported in Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Currently, negotiations are underway with «Kingspan», which completely withdrew from the Russian market in April this year. The manufacturer is looking for a plot of land to create a campus in the Lviv region. According to Lviv Regional Military Administration, the requirements for land are following:
- 40-50 hectares – for 5-6 factories;
- communal or private property;
- the location is closer to Lviv, preferably to the west of the border;
- access to significant reserves of renewable energy. The company plans to build a large mineral wool factory, which consumes a lot of energy;
- access to the gas pipeline and uninterrupted gas supply;
- access to water supply;
- access (less than 5 km) to the main highway. Proximity to the railway network;

Earlier, the company itself, which produces advanced insulation products and solutions for centralized heating, announced its intention to create new production facilities in Ukraine.
«These technologies are central to urgent efforts to decarbonize the global built environment, which is responsible for 39% of all energy-related carbon emissions,» – it said.

It was then reported that the campus would be fully completed within 5 years. Kingspan also noted that the investment in the campus is at the intersection of three crises: climate, energy and the crisis caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
